Anyway, the time spent iterating the directory fragments is likely from the huge journal size which has accumulated a lot metadata. The subtree map is obviously a part of it, but its not certain right now, if its entirely the subtree map. I am going to look at this today, so hopefully by EOD its clear what's eating up the time.
